The Big Moment: Trusting Your Intuition
Stephanie registered for the contest on the Friday prior to being randomly selected for the weekly Monday segment. “I had this weird feeling about it… I felt like it could be my turn,” she shared.
Long-Time Listener, Big-Time Music Fan
Stephanie has been a listener of The Morning X and 99X since the late ’90s. “I want to say like 1997, 1998,” she recalls, adding that she was a card-carrying Freeloader and was a fan of the station’s concerts, including On the Bricks and the legendary Big Day Out, which is returning this summer.
When asked about her favorite band, she enthusiastically named Marvelous 3, an Atlanta band that she was introduced to through 99X. “They were amazing,” she said of the experience seeing them live at The Tabernacle.
A Moment to Remember
Stephanie immediately thought of the ‘How you durrin?’ segment when asked about her all-time favorite The Morning X moment. “My mom, who is in her seventies, still answers the phone that way when we talk,” she laughed.
Advice for Future Contestants
Stephanie had a great answer when asked to give advice for future quiz contestants : “Take some time to think. Use all the time that you have.”
She also revealed that she did a little homework before the quiz. “I started listening and even like taking notes,” she said. She shared that, if she missed a segment, she caught up on The Morning X podcast page.
What’s Next for Stephanie?
As for the $1,000 prize, Stephanie has big plans. “I really want to go see Offspring when they come through,” she said, excited about the idea of getting great tickets and having a fun night with her husband.
Her children also had thoughts about her win. Her daughter, who’s six, was excited to hear her mom on the radio, while her three-year-old son wasn’t as impressed. “I’ve already heard this,” he told her, much to her amusement.
